Chapter 4: The Breakthrough

Detective Peter Pux sat at his desk, staring at the surveillance footage on his computer screen. He had been working with Detective Sarah Smith for hours, trying to find any clues that might lead them to the missing Mona Lisa.

Just as he was about to give up for the day, Sarah called him over to her desk.

"Peter, I think I found something," she said, pointing to the screen. "Look at this footage from the train station. It's from the night of the theft."

Peter leaned in closer, his pulse racing as he watched the footage. Sure enough, there was a group of people on the screen, one of them carrying a large duffel bag.

"That's them!" Peter exclaimed. "We finally have some solid evidence."

Sarah nodded. "I agree," she said. "But we still have to identify who they are. Do you recognize anyone?"

Peter studied the footage closely, trying to get a good look at the suspects' faces. Suddenly, his eyes locked onto the man with the tattoo on his neck.

"I know him!" Peter said. "His name is Jack Thompson. He's a known thief and con artist. I've been trying to catch him for years."

Sarah's eyes lit up. "We might finally have our man," she said. "Let's bring him in for questioning and see if he knows anything about the missing Mona Lisa."

With that, Peter and Sarah set off to track down Jack Thompson, determined to get to the bottom of the missing painting mystery.
