Chapter 1: The Discovery

Detective Pux, a seasoned investigator with a reputation for solving complex cases, was sitting at his desk at the police station when he received a call from the port authority. They reported a possible crime on a container ship that had just docked and requested his assistance in the investigation. Pux felt a thrill of excitement as he anticipated the challenge ahead. He knew that container ship cases could be particularly tricky, as they involve a huge amount of cargo and a large number of people who could potentially be involved in the crime.

Pux quickly gathered his things and headed down to the docks. As he approached the ship, he could see that it was one of the largest he had ever seen. The ship towered above him as he made his way up the gangway. He was greeted by the ship's captain, a gruff, no-nonsense man who introduced himself as Captain Hansen.

"We've got a problem, detective," the captain said, leading Pux to the ship's bridge. "One of our containers is missing." Pux raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Missing? How do you know that?" The captain explained that the ship's manifest showed that the container was loaded onto the ship at its last port of call, but it was nowhere to be found now that the ship had docked. Pux nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. A missing container could mean anything from theft to smuggling.

Pux asked the captain to show him the container's last known location and any security footage they had. Captain Hansen took Pux to the ship's control room and showed him the footage of the container being loaded onto the ship at the last port. Pux noticed that the container had no markings or identification numbers, which was unusual. He also noticed that the container was loaded by a group of dock workers who were wearing masks, which made it impossible to identify them.

Pux asked the captain to gather the crew and he started to interview them. He asked them if they had seen or heard anything unusual during their voyage. However, none of them had seen anything out of the ordinary. Pux knew that container ships had a large number of crew members, many of whom were only on board for short periods of time, so it was possible that the thief could have been someone who had disembarked before the ship reached port.

Pux decided to search the ship more thoroughly, looking for any signs of a break-in or foul play. He searched the crew quarters, the engine room, and the cargo holds, but he found nothing out of the ordinary. He was about to give up when he noticed something strange on the ship's surveillance footage.
